The third is documentation for work that needs a location record. Field surveys, property inspections, before-and-after site photos for a contractor, and insurance claim evidence all benefit from a photo that can prove where it was taken, independent of any caption written later.

A different use case: GST and CBSE photo requirements
Two Indian compliance processes do ask for geotagged photos, and conflating them with Google Business Profile ranking is a common and understandable mistake, since both use the word "geotag." GST registration requires you to geocode your business address as a separate step inside the GST portal, confirming the exact map location of your principal place of business. The second is coverage across categories. The disappointment is understandable, but it often pushes people to stop uploading photos entirely rather than just dropping the geotagging step and keeping up the upload habit that does matter.
A third mistake is faking a location, either on a Business Profile photo or, worse, on a compliance document for GST or CBSE.
