How to make text bold on LinkedIn
LinkedIn does not ship a bold button in the post composer, so Ctrl+B does nothing. The workaround uses Unicode, a global character set that already includes a full "mathematical bold" alphabet (๐ ๐ ๐, ๐ ๐ ๐) and a bold sans-serif alphabet (๐ ๐ ๐, ๐ฎ ๐ฏ ๐ฐ). When you paste those characters into LinkedIn, the feed renders them as bold letters natively.

- Bold and Bold Sans: the two you'll use most, because they draw the eye to a hook or a metric. Pair with a strong hook formula for the first line.
- Italic and Italic Sans: for pull-quotes, side comments and soft emphasis.
- Monospace: gives your text a code-editor look, useful for step-by-step lists and technical audiences.
- Script and Fraktur: decorative styles best kept to one or two words in a headline.
- Double-struck and Fullwidth: novelty options for a subhead or a signature line.

Why LinkedIn doesn't have built-in bold formatting
LinkedIn keeps the post composer intentionally plain to protect feed readability. If everyone could bold, italicise and change font size at will, the feed would look like a spam wall by lunchtime. So the platform ships a stripped-down editor and relies on Unicode characters (bold, italic, emoji) for any visual variety. Meta's Threads works the same way, and X only added italics recently. The upside for creators: styled Unicode is treated as normal text by the LinkedIn algorithm, so bold does not hurt reach.
