Meta Verified India Price: Plans and Is It Worth It?

Meta Verified in India now costs from about Rs 639 a month for the entry tier to over Rs 20,000 a month for the top business plan, depending on whether you are verifying a personal profile, a creator account or a business. Here is what each tier includes, whether the badge helps you get seen more, and how to decide if it is worth paying for.

Meta Verified in India costs anywhere from roughly Rs 639 a month for a single entry-tier badge to over Rs 20,000 a month for the top business plan, and the exact price depends on whether you are verifying a personal profile, a creator account or a business, plus which tier you pick inside the app.

I manage Instagram and Facebook profiles for clinics, boutiques and personal brands across Pune, and Meta Verified is one of the first questions a client asks once a fake copycat account shows up in their DMs. This guide covers the current India pricing for personal, creator and business plans, what each tier actually includes, whether the badge does anything for reach, and how to decide if it is worth the monthly charge for your situation.

What Meta Verified Actually Gives You

Meta Verified is a paid subscription that adds a verified badge to an Instagram or Facebook profile after Meta confirms your identity against a government ID. Every tier includes the same three basics: the badge itself, proactive impersonation protection that scans for accounts copying your name and photos, and access to account support beyond the standard help forms.

This is different from the older, unpaid blue check that Meta still hands out manually to a small number of public figures, journalists and global brands. That free badge has never been available to most creators or small businesses. Meta Verified is the only route most of my clients actually have to a badge next to their name, and it is a purchase, not an achievement.

Higher tiers add more than a bigger badge. Depending on the plan, you get extra clickable links inside Reels, faster support with call-back requests, dedicated case monitoring during an active impersonation problem, and for business plans, tools for managing a team of people posting from one account. I break the tiers down in the next section.

Meta Verified India Price Right Now (September 2026)

Meta has changed how it prices verification in India three times since the badge first launched here. It is worth knowing the history, because a lot of what still ranks on Google today quotes an old number.

Meta Verified first arrived in India in June 2023 as a flat individual subscription: Rs 699 a month through the iOS or Android app, or Rs 599 a month for the same badge bought through Facebook on the web. In July 2024, Meta added a separate structure for businesses, starting at Rs 639 a month for a single app and rising toward Rs 21,000 a month during an introductory period for Facebook and Instagram together, increasing further after twelve months.

Then, in a global relaunch that Meta's own newsroom announced on 15 September 2026, verification for creators and businesses moved inside a new subscription umbrella called Meta One. Meta's own pricing page for Meta Verified, checked at the time of writing, lists four tiers globally named Standard, Plus, Premium and Max, starting at $14.99 a month. Indian technology press coverage of the same relaunch, published within a day of Meta's announcement, describes the identical four tiers for India under the names Essential, Advanced, Expert and Max, priced at Rs 639, Rs 2,099, Rs 6,399 and Rs 20,990 a month. The price points line up closely enough with the dollar tiers that this reads as the same ladder described two different ways, not two separate products.

Meta's own page does not publish an India-specific rupee figure, only the global base rate and a note that pricing varies by region, so treat the rupee numbers here as reported figures from Indian technology press rather than an official Meta price list. Open the subscription screen inside your own Instagram or Facebook app before paying anything, since this is exactly the kind of number Meta has revised before and will likely revise again.

One older habit still matters: buying through a browser on Facebook's website has historically cost less than buying through the iOS or Android app, because Apple and Google both take a cut of in-app purchases that Meta passes on to you. If your account gives you a web option at checkout, compare it to the app price before you default to your phone.

Tier Reported India price What it adds
Standard / EssentialRs 639 a monthVerified badge, impersonation monitoring, standard chat or email support
Plus / AdvancedRs 2,099 a monthMore Reel links, basic scheduling and profile analytics
Premium / ExpertRs 6,399 a monthDeeper analytics, more team seats, expanded AI tool access
MaxRs 20,990 a monthCall-back support requests, active case monitoring, full feature set

These are reported prices as reported at the time of writing (September 2026) and they will drift. Always check the figure shown to you inside the app before subscribing, since Meta does not show every tier to every account type.

Business and Creator Plans, Tier by Tier

The entry tier is the one nearly every small business and solo creator actually needs. It covers the badge, impersonation protection and standard support, which is the whole reason most people buy Meta Verified in the first place. Skip the upper tiers unless you specifically need what they add.

The two middle tiers exist for businesses juggling more content and more people. Extra Reel links help a retailer point viewers straight to different product pages instead of a single bio link. Team access matters once more than one person posts from the same business account, which is common for a small agency or a multi-location clinic.

The top tier is built for brands that expect trouble: frequent impersonation attempts, a support ticket that needs a real human on the phone, or a case that needs someone at Meta actively watching it. For a single-location business in Pune or any similar city, this tier is rarely worth the jump from Standard.

Eligibility and the Documents You Need

You need to be at least 18, or the age of majority where you live, and your profile needs to already use your real name or your registered business name, matching the account it represents. Two-factor authentication has to be switched on before Meta will let you start a subscription.

For the identity check, Meta asks for a government-issued photo ID, such as an Aadhaar card, PAN card or passport, with a name and photo that match your profile. Business accounts typically also need to show the account is tied to a real, active business through your Meta Business Suite setup. Meta says it encrypts the ID and stores it only for a short window to confirm your identity, then discards it.

Review is not instant. Budget a few days rather than a few minutes, and do not schedule a launch, an ad campaign or a press mention around an application that has not been approved yet. If your business name has changed recently, or the name on your ID does not exactly match what is on your profile, fix that mismatch first, since it is the most common reason applications stall.

Does the Badge Actually Improve Your Reach

No, not in any way Meta will commit to in writing, and I have not seen it move the needle for a single client. Meta's own marketing uses careful language, saying the badge "may" help with visibility in search, comments and recommendations. That is not a promise, and it is nowhere close to an algorithmic ranking boost.

In my own work, the biggest reach jumps I have produced for clients, including a Pune clinic that hit 742,000-plus Instagram views in three months with 94% of that reach coming from non-followers, came from the hook in the first two seconds of a Reel and a posting rhythm the account could sustain, not from any paid badge. None of the accounts where I generated that kind of reach were Meta Verified at the time. If you want the mechanics behind that kind of growth, I cover it in my guide on Instagram marketing for local brands.

Treat the badge as a trust signal for someone who has already found you, not a discovery tool that finds new people for you. If your actual problem is a stalled account, work on your Instagram reach and your engagement rate first. A badge on a quiet account is still a quiet account.

Who Should Actually Pay For It, and Who Should Skip It

Pay for it if impersonation is already a real, active problem. A clinic where fake accounts message patients asking for advance payment, a coach whose course gets resold by a copycat page, or a creator with enough of a following that scam accounts keep appearing, all have a genuine use for the monitoring and the badge as a trust signal at the point of contact.

Pay for it if you are a creator or a personal brand where the badge doubles as a professional credential, similar to a verified handle on other platforms. My guide on personal branding for freelancers covers the other trust signals worth building alongside it.

Skip it, at least for now, if your account is new, your following is small, and nobody has tried to copy you yet. Skip it if your real problem is an incomplete profile, weak content or no clear call to action, none of which a badge fixes. Skip it if cash flow is tight and the subscription would compete with actual ad spend or content production, since a badge does not generate a single lead on its own. If you are unsure which category you fall into, reach out and I can look at your specific profile.

How to Apply for Meta Verified in India

Here is the process I walk clients through, whether they are applying as an individual creator or as a business.

Step 1: Turn on two-factor authentication

Open your account settings on Instagram or Facebook and switch on two-factor authentication if it is not already active. Meta will not let you start a Meta Verified application without it, so this step saves you a rejected attempt later.

Step 2: Confirm your profile name matches your ID

Check that the name on your profile matches exactly what is printed on your government ID or, for a business, your registered business documents. Fix any mismatch before you apply rather than after a rejection.

Step 3: Open the subscription flow and pick a tier

Go to your profile settings and look for Meta Verified or Accounts Center subscriptions. Compare the tiers against what you actually need, since the entry tier covers the badge and protection that most small businesses are really paying for.

Step 4: Submit your ID and complete payment

Upload a clear photo of your accepted ID when prompted, confirm your billing details, and complete the payment through whichever channel the app offers, web or in-app.

Step 5: Wait for review

Give it a few working days. Do not resubmit repeatedly if you do not hear back within a day, since that tends to slow down the queue rather than speed it up.

Step 6: Turn on impersonation monitoring once approved

After approval, check that impersonation monitoring is active in your settings and note the support channel listed for your tier, so you know exactly where to go the first time you spot a fake account.

How to Cancel If It Stops Making Sense

If you subscribed through the app, cancel through the app, not through Meta directly. On an iPhone, go to Settings, tap your name, then Subscriptions, and cancel Meta Verified there. On Android, open the Play Store, tap your profile icon, then Payments and subscriptions, then Subscriptions, and cancel from that list.

If you do not see a Cancel option inside Meta's own Accounts Center, that is usually a sign your subscription is billed through Apple or Google rather than Meta directly, which is why the app store is where you need to go. Your badge and other benefits typically stay active until the end of the billing period you already paid for, so there is no need to rush the cancellation to land exactly on the renewal date.

Building Trust Without a Monthly Subscription

A badge is one trust signal among many, and it is the most expensive one. A complete, well-written Instagram bio with a real address, real hours and a specific offer does more for a first-time visitor's confidence than a small checkmark ever will.

Consistent branding across platforms matters too. If your logo, your business name and your contact details match across your Facebook Business Page, your Instagram profile and your Google Business Profile, a visitor can cross-check you in seconds without needing Meta to vouch for you. My Google Business Profile optimisation guide covers the part of that setup most small businesses skip.

Reviews do more for trust than a badge, especially for a local business. A steady flow of real reviews, handled well when a bad one shows up, is something I cover in my guide on getting more Google reviews. If impersonation or fake reviews are already actively hurting you, my guide on online reputation management walks through the response process step by step.

None of this costs a recurring fee, and all of it keeps working even in a month you decide not to renew Meta Verified.

Common Mistakes to Avoid

Buying the top tier out of anxiety rather than need is the most expensive mistake I see. Most small businesses and solo creators get everything they actually use out of the entry tier, and the jump to Rs 20,990 a month rarely buys anything a Pune clinic or a boutique needs day to day.

Letting the subscription auto-renew long after the problem it solved is gone is the second mistake. If you subscribed during a specific impersonation scare and the fake accounts stopped appearing months ago, it is worth asking whether you are still paying for anything active.

Assuming the badge stops impersonation completely is the third. It adds monitoring and a support channel, not a guarantee. You still need to report fake accounts yourself the moment you spot them, the same way you would without the subscription. The badge makes that report easier to act on, not unnecessary. Building a realistic follower strategy and posting consistently still does more for a small business than any badge, verified or not.

Frequently asked questions

Does Meta Verified cost the same on the web and in the app?

No. Meta has historically charged less for Meta Verified when you subscribe through a browser on Facebook's website than when you subscribe through the iOS or Android app, because Apple and Google both take a cut of in-app purchases that Meta passes on to the subscriber. The gap was roughly Rs 100 a month when the badge first launched in India in 2023. If your account offers a web checkout option, compare that price against the app price before you subscribe, since the cheaper route is not always the default one Meta shows you.

Can I get Meta Verified without a government ID?

No. Identity verification is the foundation of Meta Verified, so you need a government-issued photo ID, such as an Aadhaar card, PAN card or passport, with a name and photo that match your profile exactly. Without a matching ID, Meta will reject the application regardless of which tier or plan you try to buy. If you do not want to submit a government ID at all, Meta Verified is not an option for you, and you will need to rely on other trust signals instead, such as a complete profile, consistent branding and genuine reviews.

Does the Meta Verified badge stop someone from impersonating my business?

Not completely. The subscription adds proactive monitoring that scans for accounts copying your name, photos or profile details, and gives you a faster support channel to report a fake account once you spot one. It does not automatically block copycats from being created in the first place. You still need to actively report impersonating accounts the moment you notice them, the same as you would without the subscription. Think of the badge as making that reporting process faster and better supported, not as a shield that prevents impersonation from happening at all.

Is Meta Verified worth it for a small business in a city like Pune?

It depends on the actual problem you are trying to solve. If fake accounts are already copying your clinic, salon or shop and confusing customers, the entry tier is a reasonable, low-cost way to add monitoring and a badge that signals authenticity. If nobody has impersonated you yet and your bigger problem is an incomplete profile or inconsistent posting, that money is better spent on content, a proper Google Business Profile and a few rounds of client outreach. The badge supports trust once people find you, it does not replace the work of getting found.

What happens to my profile if I stop paying for Meta Verified?

Your badge disappears once the subscription ends, along with the impersonation monitoring and the enhanced support access tied to your tier. Your profile, followers, posts and everything else you built stay exactly as they were. Cancelling does not penalise your account or reduce your reach in any documented way, since the badge was never confirmed to affect distribution in the first place. Most people notice the loss of the badge itself far more than any change in how their content performs, which is worth knowing before you subscribe.

Your next step

Before you pay for anything, work out which problem you are actually solving. If impersonation is real and active, apply for the entry tier and set up monitoring today. If your real problem is a thin profile or inconsistent posting, fix your Instagram bio first, since that is free and does more for a first-time visitor than a badge. Still unsure which applies to you? Get in touch and I will look at your specific profile.
